What have you missed? What have we neglected to say? Well, in the first place, Mise en Place continued to expand its fan base last Thursday at Lee's Liquor Lounge. The sparsely attended affair was invigorated by the presence of a group of Coors Light aficionados who took issue with the Mise en Place method of rock music. Going forward, we'll call them "The Hecklers." From The Hecklers, the band received its first request to "take a break" and to "learn a third chord." Encouraged by the soundman (and presumably boredom with the set), Mise en Place's listless, but staunch supporters occasionally joined the band in exchanging childish barbs with The Hecklers. When it was all said and done (and only after it was confirmed that singer Drew Patrick would not be "going home" with one of the lovely ladies of The Hecklers), drummer Shaun Westphal decided it was time to make amends with a charm offensive. Whether it was a genuine gesture by Shaun or an attempt to close the deal that Drew couldn't, Shaun's efforts after the set resulted in some nice photos and a rewarding conversation. For those of you who missed it, shame on you . . . but, with any luck, Mise en Place is hopeful that The Hecklers will be around for you to see at future shows. Mise en Place fully expect The Hecklers to be a regular part of their future shows, taking various forms, numbers, and membership arrangements in the coming months and years.
Here are the Hecklers in case you missed the links above:

Speaking of future shows, how about Friday night? That's your next chance to catch the gentlemen of Mise en Place in action. The show is at The Red Sea in The Green Room "Live" near the intersection of Cedar Avenue and Riverside Avenue in Minneapolis. Tickets are $7.00 at the door, but you can e-mail or call your favorite band member for info on a $5.00 advance ticket. Please do, as you can enjoy complimentary Jimmy John's food and $2.50 drink specials at the venue while you wait to watch the show. Also appearing, and thankfully so, is the infamous Band of Northern Aggression. You definitely do not want to miss BONA, so get to The Red Sea early. Showtime is 7:30.
Buy.
