Last Friday, April 14th, Mise en Place took the small stage at The Loring Pasta Bar to play some rock music for the late-night dinner crowd. There isn't much to report about the event, except for the usual raves about how much Mise en Place absolutely sonically destroys everything with the band's take on rock music. Bunny Big Ears and Parsnip Pete no-showed for the event, as did the club's mythical soundman. Mise en Place would like to extend their thanks to all who did attend to experience the ambience of the building while watching Mise en Place try not to fall off the stage during their performance.

Next up for Mise en Place is another date at The Uptown with The Debut and The Pundits on Thursday, April 27th. Showtime is 9:00. The Debut leads off. Mise en Place plays second. The Pundits will close down the show. Mise en Place will be promoting the EDINA E.P., COPPER PRESS, the band's women's tee shirts, and all other things Mise en Place at the show. Be there.

Last Friday, March 31st, Mise en Place returned to The Red Sea to play some music and to celebrate the release of Edina, the band's new C.D. E.P. Joining Mise en Place were The Pundits and Flavor Crystals, both of whom provided some great sounds for the crowd to enjoy before Mise en Place took the stage appropriately at the witching hour on April Fool's Day.

The band's enthusiasm was matched only by that of an enthusiastic, dancing local [?] stranger, who apparently mistook Mise en Place for a drum-and-bass dub combo. Conveniently enough, the bootleg mix of the show confirms that Mise en Place is in fact a drum-and-bass combo with a non-Rastafarian sally on vocals. After replacing its unnecessary guitars with flutes and African hand-drums, the band is looking forward to future collaborations with Dave Matthews, Paul Simon, and Slowflight.

Mise en Place threw their fans a proverbial bone by re-introducing all within earshot to the splendor of "Las Vegas" at the end of the set. Other highlights for the dancing guy included "Bolton Wanderer" and "fresh" takes on "Assault and Flattery" and "The Test" . . .

Mise en Place would like to thank all who attended for another splendid affair at The Red Sea. Special thanks to The Pundits and Flavor Crystals, who together worked very hard to build a wave of musical momentum for Mise en Place to kill violently with tactless aggression.

Next up for Mise en Place is The Loring Pasta Bar on Good Friday, April 14th, at 10:00 p.m., featuring special appearances by Bunny Big Ears and Parsnip Pete, followed by a return to The Uptown on Thursday, April 27th, at 9:30 p.m., featuring special guests to be announced. Of course, the band will be shamelessly pushing the infamous Edina E.P. as hard as any of the drugs to which certain band members may or may not be addicted. And, by the way, for the sadistic sense of fulfillment you know you all feel when you watch a bloody trainwreck, really try to get out for the Loring Pasta Bar show . . . things could get very interesting after you finish your Fettuccini Carbonara . . .
